This Cookie Policy explains how Blockwyse S.r.l. ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on blockwyse.io (the "Website"), and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

This policy is issued in accordance with Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the "Codice Privacy"), which implements Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the "ePrivacy Directive"), the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR"), and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools adopted by the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali on 10 June 2021 (Provision No. 231/2021).

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can be used to make the site work, to remember your preferences, or to measure how the site is used. This policy also covers other technologies that store or read information on your device, such as your browser's local storage, which we treat the same way as cookies.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting, social media plugins, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting or session recordings. If that changes, this policy will be updated first and, where the technology is not strictly necessary, your consent will be requested before it is used.

The categories in our cookie banner

Our consent banner is provided by Cookiebot, and it groups cookies into five standard categories. You will see all five described in the banner, because those descriptions are the provider's own. Not all five are in use on this Website. This section says which are.

Necessary — in use, no consent required

These are needed for the Website to work and to respect the choices you make. They cover remembering your cookie consent so you are not asked on every page, and keeping your session working on our hosting.

These do not require your consent under Article 122 of the Codice Privacy, because they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. You cannot switch them off in the banner, but you can block them in your browser, in which case parts of the Website may not work correctly and you will be asked for your cookie choice on every visit.

Preferences — not currently in use

This category covers cookies that remember choices that change how a website looks or behaves, such as a preferred language or region. We do not currently set any cookie in this category.

Statistics — in use, consent required

We use two analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how the Website is used: how many visits it receives, which pages are viewed, and how visitors arrive. We do not use this information to identify you, to personalise the content you see, or for advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks.

Cookiebot analytics. If you have not given consent, or have declined, visits are counted in an anonymised, aggregated way without cookies being set on your device. If you accept statistics cookies, Cookiebot sets cookies that allow more detailed measurement, such as recognising a returning visit.

Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc., which hosts this Website. It counts page views and visits without setting cookies and without storing anything on your device: a visit is counted using a value derived from your IP address and browser, which is not used to identify you and is not retained in a form that could be linked back to you. Although it sets no cookies, we do not load it until you have accepted statistics cookies, so that the choice you make in the banner governs both tools in the same way.

Marketing — not in use

This category covers cookies used to track visitors across websites in order to display advertising. We do not use them, we do not run third-party advertising, and we do not host social media tracking plugins. The category still appears in the banner because it is part of our provider's standard set. If we ever begin using such cookies, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested before any of them is set.

Unclassified — should be empty

This category is used by our provider for cookies that have been detected but not yet classified. Because the Website uses a small and stable set of cookies, this category should normally be empty. If a cookie does appear there, it means our provider's latest scan has found something it has not yet categorised, and it will be classified at the next update of the table below.

Cookie table

The table published beneath this policy is produced by our consent provider's regular scan of the Website, so it lists the cookies actually in use, with their provider, purpose and duration. It is generated rather than written by hand, so that it cannot drift out of step with the Website.

All our fonts are served from our own website rather than from a third-party font service, so viewing a page does not send a request to an external font provider.

How we ask for your consent

When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner appears before any non-essential cookie is set:

• "Deny" is shown with the same prominence as "Allow all", on the first layer of the banner.
• You can accept or refuse each category of cookies separately.
• Nothing is pre-selected. Non-essential categories are off until you switch them on.
• Closing the banner or continuing to browse does not count as consent. Only necessary cookies are set until you make an active choice.
• The Website works fully whatever you choose. There is no cookie wall.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.

A record of your consent choice (the date, your choice, an anonymised identifier and the banner version) is kept by our consent provider for 12 months, so that we can demonstrate the consent you gave if we are asked to.

Who processes the data

Our consent banner, consent records, cookie table and one of the two analytics tools are provided by Usercentrics A/S (Cookiebot). The Website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which also provides the second analytics tool described above. Both act as our data processors under a data processing agreement, and we are the data controller. Vercel is established in the United States, so personal data processed by it may be transferred outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy. Where a cookie is set by a third party acting as an independent controller for its own purposes, that third party's own privacy and cookie policy governs that processing; the table below identifies the provider of every cookie in use.

Controlling cookies in your browser

As well as using our banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or ask your browser to warn you before cookies are stored. Refer to your browser's help pages for instructions. If you block necessary cookies, the Website will ask for your cookie choice on every visit.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the cookies or technologies we use change, or when the law or regulatory guidance changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Where a change requires it, we will ask for your consent again.
